Child Seat Fitment and Sales Now Offered at Dealership

Bill Robertson Toyota loves locals and their team are always looking for ways to continue their support within the Gladstone community. That’s why when they realsied there were no certified baby seat fitters in the region, they knew this was a vital service greatly needed in the community. The dealership took it upon themselves to conduct Kidsafe Qld training for a number of their team to become certifed car seat fitters.

Bill Robertson Toyota Dealer Principal, James Robertson said, “We’re so pleased to now have fully trained Type 1 Fitters by Kidsafe Qld for child restraints at our dealership. Having our team ready to be able to professionally fit both baby and child seats professionally is a service we’re very proud to offer. Our Dealership is the only certified Kidsafe Qld fitter in Gladstone.

“Our team can also check the fitment of existing car seats already in their vehicles, which is real peace of mind for all parents and carers with littlies in their vehicles. And no matter what vehicle you drive and what model child seat you need fitted or checked, our team are trained to assist. We’ve had lots of great feedback from the Gladstone community thanking us for bringing this service back to our region which is lovely to hear”.

The latest figures from Kidsafe Queensland show that 8 out of 10 car seats checked in the past year were incorrectly installed, with the most common mistake people make when installing seats themselves being not using the tether strap correctly.

“It is crucial that the tether strap is not too loose, or too tight, and attached to the correct anchor point… otherwise the restraint will not adequately protect the child in the event of a crash,” Kidsafe Qld CEO Susan Teerds said.

“Other common mistakes include Isofix connectors detached, capsules incorrectly reclined, or twisted straps.”

Along with this new service, Bill Robertson Toyota are also pleased to annouce they are now stockists of Britax Safe and Sound car seats. The team have chosen the most popular seats from the range to sell at the dealership. With seats ranging in age use from birth up to 10 years old.
