Re-post from Gladstone News, February 24, 2021 Edition
Representatives from Suncorp Insurance and Bill Robertson Toyota proudly presented a generous donation to two local not-for-profits, Roseberry Qld and Gladstone Wildlife Carers Assocation.
The donations were presented at a ceremony on Thursday, February 18 at Toyota’s showroom and were made as part of a collaborative initiative between Suncorp Insurance and BillRobertson Toyota.
For every customer who purchases a vehicle from Bill Robertson Toyota and chooses Suncorp Insurance as their CTP provider, Suncorp makes a donation to a charity of their choice. Customers are able to choose between charities Roseberry QLD, Gladstone Wildlife Carers Association Inc. or The Leukaemia Foundation.
Michelle Coats General Manager of Roseberry QLD said, “All local donations to Roseberry QLD will go towards supporting the programs we don’t get funding for such as the Dignity Hub Gladstone. The Dignity Hub Gladstone works with people experiencing homelessness in the Gladstone Region and helps them by providing basic meals and other essential supplies.”
Volunteer Jodi Jones from the Gladstone Wildlife Carers Association said, “This donation will be a huge benefit to our organization. We have a lot of different ways we can spend money. We are currently caring for baby possums and they can cost upwards of a thousand dollars to hand raise per animal and we care for about 60-70 of them per year.” It is great to see large organizations collaborate and help support the local Gladstone community.
Bill Robertson Toyota’s Marketing Manager, Erin Robertson said, “Our dealership takes great pride in giving back to our community as much as we can. We chose these charities to donate to as they all have a special meaning to our team. We would like to sincerely thank our customers for helping us support such worthy causes.”
“The donation program has been running now since 2019 and has donated thousands of dollars to each charity and we look forward to continuing our collaboration with Suncorp Insurance for many years to come.”
